Thank
you for considering sponsoring the Texas Bicycle Coalition
through your cycling event! Every year TBC assists 40
to 50 of Texas' most successful events. We can provide
much more than the $1.00 per rider sponsorship that
we ask from sponsoring events. To earn your sponsorship,
TBC has put together a package of insurance, advertising,
advocacy, and support that creates a win-win deal for
both of us. |

INSURANCE
Your sponsorship will include the option to purchase
discount event insurance -- with no mark-up for us --
that will beat your present rate by 20 to 50 percent.
Generally for events with less than 1,000 participants,
rates are $0.75 per participant; for 1,000 to 5,000,
rates are $0.65 per participant; and for events with
over 5,000 participants, rates are negotiable. Normally,
an event will pay $2.00 to $5.00 per participant, so
you can see that the savings are substantial.

ADVERTISING
Through the distribution of our newsletter BikeTexas
Today, and ride and event listings on our Web site,
we will advertise to more than 5,000 of cyclists and supporters.
Along with your event listing on our Web site, which receives
thousands of hits a month, we will include a link to your
ride/event Web site if you have one available. We will
also provide you addresses of bike clubs and bike shops
throughout the state to distribute your ride registration
materials.

ADVOCACY
Nationally, we are the model for statewide advocacy organizations.
In fact, TBC ensures that events like yours can take place
by protecting your rights to the road and trails. And
TBC is now working with the Texas Department of Transportation
to allow for uniform signage for events -- can you imagine
how difficult it would be if you couldn't indicate the
direction of your ride?

SUPPORT
We can help you organize your ride and event by putting
our staff experience and resources to work for you. Just
send us an email or call us with your event organizing
questions. We can help in dealing with contacting local,
county and state road and law enforcement authorities
and with setting up and marking your routes. Also inquire
about our TBC Event Organizers' Manual.

SAFETY
ROUTE SIGNS
We have a series of clever and informative route-marking
signs for use at your event. Signs are 14" x 21"
and are screened black on yellow Coroplast. When mounted
on metal posts with wing nuts and washers, they can be
easily dissembled for storage and distribution. Space
for Event Logo is normally 4 ½" high by 12"
wide. Contact TBC for information on price and availability.
Signs range in price from $5.00 to $7.50 depending on
quantities and preferences. Payment terms negotiable.
Your
event makes money from the bicycling community. We are asking
that you do what many Texas events already do -- give something
back to the cycling community to help improve cycling conditions
for everyone. Supporting TBC is a responsible way to ensure
that cycling continues to grow in Texas! Join the growing
number of chambers of commerce, civic groups and other organizations
dedicated to keeping Texas roads safe for cyclists!
Sponsorship of TBC can be achieved in two ways:
(1) add a dollar per rider to your registration form and
let participants know that this dollar is dedicated to TBC;
or
(2) a contribution from your proceeds based on your event's
size -- all we ask is $1.00 per participant minimum.
